6 wounded in 2 IED blasts, 2 mortars hit Green Zone

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Six civilians were wounded when two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) went off separately in western and southern Baghdad on Saturday, while two mortars landed into Baghdad’s Green Zone, an Iraqi police source said. “An IED went off in the area of al-Ghazaliya, western Baghdad, near a U.S. army patrol, leaving two civilians wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “In the area of al-Dora, southern Baghdad, another IED went off, leaving four civilians wounded,” he added. In another incident, the source said, two mortars landed into central Baghdad’s heavily-fortified Green Zone on Saturday evening.
