Maliki cautions against return of sectarianism

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Saturday warned against the return of sectarianism, highlighting democracy and multi-culturalism as the means to establish a genuine national reconciliation in the country. “Our motto of national reconciliation aims to bring all Iraqis under the banner of Iraq,” Maliki said in his speech at the first founding conference of the Bani Tamim tribes, which was held earlier today in the capital Baghdad. “We have defeated al-Qaeda and terrorist organizations. In order to make our successes sustainable, we have to find solutions through dialogue, wisdom and common basic interests…,” Maliki added. SS (P) 1
