PUK reviews UN envoy report on disputed areas, local elections

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Saturday presided over a meeting of the PUK politburo in Dukan resort. “The latest Iraqi and Kurdistan region political developments and the report of Staffan de Mistura, the UN secretary-general’s personal envoy to Iraq, were discussed during the meeting,” according to a statement by the PUK politburo as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan region were also discussed during the meeting, where the attendees decided to hold another meeting nest week to discuss related issues about holding the third PUK congress in all aspects.
