Car bomb defused in Falluja

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Policemen in al-Anbar defused a car bomb in northern Falluja city on Sunday, a police source in the province said. “A force from the Falluja police department, acting upon intelligence tip-offs, cordoned off al-Jegheifi neighborhood, northern Falluja, and defused a car rigged with explosives without incident,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Falluja, the largest city in the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, has been a stage for acts of violence and armed operations since 2004. Falluja, 45 km west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, restored stability only after the tribal sahwa (awakening) forces flushed al-Qaeda network gunmen out. AmR (P) 1
