Ninewa governor orders fresh probe into 2008 bombing

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Ninewa’s governor has ordered a fresh probe into an early 2008 bombing that occurred in Mosul’s Zanjili area and left nearly 210 persons dead or wounded. Ninewa Governor Athil al-Nujaifi has also ordered the formation of a committee to distribute damages to the families of those who have been killed in the bombing, the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. On January 23, 2008, an explosion in an apartment building in Mosul city left at least 210 individuals killed or wounded, and damaged dozens of nearby houses and stores. In November 2008, Former Ninewa Governor Darid Kashmoula said that the central government had allocated 60 billion Iraqi dinars to compensate those who have been affected by military operations in Mosul city, including those affected by the Zanjili’s bombing.
