Talabani: National accordance pressing need to develop political process

BAGHDAD / Aswat al: Iraq: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said Iraqis would not be run by the majority and minority concept, but rather by national accordance that has become a pressing need to push the country’s political process forward, according to a presidential release on Monday. “President Talabani has praised the role played by the Iraqi clans, particularly in the province of al-Anbar, in tracking down terrorist groups and purging their areas of any terrorist threats,” read the release as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Talabani’s statements came during a meeting with a delegation from predominantly Sunni Anbar province that comprised Sheikh Ahmed Abu Risha, the chief of the Iraq Sahwa (Awakening) Tribal Fighters Council, Qassem Mohammed Abad, the governor of Anbar, Jassem Mohammed Hamad, the chief of the Anbar provincial council, Saadoun al-Dulaimi, the former minister of defense, and other local figures.
