Talabani to re-nominate himself for PUK – leader

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Secretary of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), President Jalal Talabani, enjoys good health and will re-nominate himself to lead the PUK in the 3rd conference, scheduled for next June, a member of the political bureau of the PUK said on Tuesday. “The PUK will hold its 3rd conference in the first week of June before the Kurdish parliamentary elections in July,” Saadi Beera told IraqiNews.com news agency, noting that President Talabani will re-nominate himself to lead the PUK because all leaders support his nomination as well as other Iraqi and Kurdish bodies. “The president enjoys good health and all of us support his nomination,” he asserted. Talabani, 76, had underwent several hear surgeries in Jordan and the U.S. in the past few years.   SH (P)/SR 1
