Security gains pave the way for investment

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Thursday said that the security successes that have been achieved in the country will pave the way for more investment opportunities. The remark came during a joint press conference with his British counterpart, Gordon Brown, on the sidelines of a London-based conference on investment opportunities in Iraq, which opened earlier today. The conference, organized by the U.K. Ministry of Development, is presided over by Deputy Premier Barham Saleh. On Wednesday (April 29) evening, Maliki arrived in London, leading a senior delegation that included the foreign minister, Hoshyar Zebari; the interior minister, Jawad al-Bolani; and the trade minister, Abdulfalah al-Sudani.
