  BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Individuals who were wounded in the explosions that took place in Baghdad on Wednesday (April 29) were released from hospitals after treatment, with the exception of two cases, the official spokesperson of Baghdad Operations Command (BOC) said on Thursday. “They received the required treatment at the hospitals,” General Qassim Atta told IraqiNews.com news agency. On April 29, five persons were killed and eight others were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Baghdad’s Sunni area of al-Doura. The explosion occurred 10 minutes after a car bomb was defused in the neighboring Abu Dasheer area, according to an Iraqi police source. Earlier the same day, four car bombs detonated in the capital Baghdad. An official spokesperson of BOC said that two car bombs exploded in Bagdad’s Sadr City, leaving nine dead and 72 wounded. The first was next to Mredi market and the second near the city’s market, according to the official. Meanwhile, two cars rigged with explosives went off simultaneously in Jaffat Street of the predominantly Shiite city of al-Hurriya, leaving an unknown number of casualties. MH (S)/SR 1
