U.S. forces kill, arrest 8 al-Qaeda gunmen in Salah el-Din

SALAH EL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Tuesday killed two al-Qaeda gunmen and arrested six others during a security operation in west of Dalouiya in Salah el-Din, a police source said. “The U.S. army ended a security operation waged in al-Huwiyja al-Bahariya region in the west of Dalouiya, using choppers, river boats and air drops to hunt down al-Qaeda gunmen,” Major Mahmoud al-Zahemi from al-Dalouiya police told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The operation ended with killing two al-Qaeda gunmen, one of them are a suicide bomber, and arresting six others,” he added. Dalouiya is 90 km north of Baghdad, while Tikrit, the capital of Salah el-Din, lies 175 km north of Baghdad. SH (P)/SR 1
