Suspected members of armed groups nabbed near Falluja

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Six persons believed to belong to armed groups on Wednesday were arrested near Anbar’s Falluja city, according to a local police source. “Forces stationed in al-Saqlawiya district, northern Falluja, arrested six suspects in al-Sajr village following intelligence tips about their involvement in terrorist activities against Iraqi security forces,” Captain Hikmat Jabr told IraqiNews.com news agency. “An investigation is currently underway,” Captain Jabr noted. Falluja was a scene of armed conflict between U.S. and Iraqi forces on the one hand and al-Qaeda gunmen on the other. Falluja, the largest city in Anbar, lies 45 km west of Baghdad; while Ramadi, the capital of the province, lies 110 km west of Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
