BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The budget of 2009 allocated to Basra province does not cover the costs of the 2008 projects that were transferred to this year, Basra’s governor said on Monday. “The province’s budget of 2009 is 237 billion Iraqi dinars, and this year’s budget is less than last year,” Dr. Shiltagh Abod said while receiving a group of Basra artists and authors. “This will not limit our determination to make Basra an advanced and prosperous city,” he added. “Basra will absorb investments,” he noted.
