18 suspects arrested in Falluja

ANBAR/ IraqiNews.com: Police forces arrested a group of 18 persons suspected of being gunmen to the east of Falluja city, a source from the police said on Wednesday. “The arrests took place in Garmat al-Falluja district,” Major Mohammed Saad told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The group is suspected of being involved in terrorist acts against Iraqi security forces,” he said. “During preliminary interrogations, the suspects confessed to planting roadside bombs and targeting army and police patrols,” he added. “Suspects’ confessions were admitted to a specialized interrogation judge,” he noted. Major Saad pointed out that people’s cooperation helped to arrest the suspects. Falluja city lies 45 km west of Baghdad. MH (P) /SR 1
