New gas driven power station in Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi electricity minister on Wednesday laid the cornerstone of a new gas driven power station, which has the capacity of 180 Megawatt and costs $100 million, according to a high ranking source from the Electricity Ministry. “Al-Kahlaa power station will consist of four generation units, with 45 Megawatt for each,” Engineer Mohammed Abdulameer Hassan told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The station will be established by a U.S. company within three months,” he said.
