Presidential decree to appoint Muthanna governor

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Presidential Board (PB) on Thursday issued a decree appointing Ibrahim Salman Jabar al-Mayali as governor of the province of Muthanna. “Based on the decisions taken by the Muthanna provincial council in line with article 7 of the law on provinces, Ibrahim Salman Jabar al-Mayali was appointed as governor of Muthanna,” according to a PB release as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The final results of the Muthanna provincial council elections, held on January 31, 2009, saw the Dawlat al-Qanoon (State of Law) Coalition and Shahid al-Mihrab List winning 5 seats each, followed by al-Jumhour and al-Islah lists with three seats each.
