80 lawmakers demand vote of no confidence on trade minister

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: MP from the Iraqi List, Radwan al-Klidar, said on Monday that more than 80 lawmakers presented a memorandum demanding a vote of no confidence be held on Trade Minister Abdulfalah al-Sudani. “The minister’s answers were not convincing, and some of his answers raised other questions,” al-Klidar told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The lawmakers have doubts on al-Sudani’s ability to run the ministry, the matter that paved the way to present the memo to vote on the minister,” he added. The parliament held two regular sessions on Sunday (May 17) to question Trade Minister Abdulfalah al-Sudani on financial and administrative corruption charges. The lawmaker said a number of ministers will be questioned during the next few weeks.   SH (P)/SR 1
