Maliki urges greater efforts to tackle corruption

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Saturday called for further efforts by the government and the people to combat financial and administrative corruption in state institutions. “We need the partners in the political process to be more transparent,” Maliki said in a speech at the first foundational conference for Iraqi chieftains, which was held earlier today in the capital Baghdad. “We have several tasks to complete, including the legislative frame, because we are talking about a state of law and institutions…,” Maliki added.
