5 candidates to run for president of Kurdistan

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: A fifth candidate is running for the president of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, the head of the electoral commission in Arbil city said on Sunday. “Sifeen Sheikh Mohammed has submitted his nomination for the position to the commission, which approved his nomination,” Ali Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Tomorrow (May 25) is the deadline for receiving nomination requests,” Qader noted. The five candidates are the incumbent president of the Kurdistan region, Massoud al-Barazani; Hallow Ibrahim Ahmed; Dr. Kamal Mirawildy; Hussein Garmiyani and Sifeen Sheikh Mohammed. SS (P) 1
