Council of ministers seeks protection for local products

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The secretary general of the Iraqi cabinet, Ali al-Allaq, on Monday stressed the necessity to press on official border points to stop corruption represented by allowing foreign agricultural products to enter Iraq. This came during the council’s tenth session when al-Allaq was addressing parliamentarian, governmental and public concerns of the phenomenon of importing foreign agricultural products to Iraq, according to a release issued by the cabinet and received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Active legislative items need law power and military force, in addition to national dignity evaluation, to stop importing agricultural products, especially rotten ones,” al-Allaq said. “An active and quick decision needs to be made by the cabinet to stop this phenomenon and to organize border points,” he added.
