PM has right to make reshuffle to implement government’s program – al-Samarraie

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Iyad al-Samarraie, said on Monday that Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, had the right to make a reshuffle and select efficient ministers to implement the government’s programs. Speaking at a press conference held on Monday (May 25) in the parliament, attended by IraqiNews.com news agency, al-Samarraie said “the prime minister has wanted to make a reshuffle and form a government of no more than 17 ministers for over two years now, but he suffered political pressures from certain powers which prevented him from making this reshuffle.” “It’s a legal right of the premier to make the reshuffle and to select ministers able to implement the government’s program,: he added. “The parliament’s authorization gives the premier the power to resist this pressure. The reshuffle is a legal thing and does not need argument,” the speaker noted. SH (P)/SR 1
