Minister urges 5-year rebuilding plans

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi planning minister, Ali Baban, Thursday called on local administrations to start preparing five-year rebuilding and development plans the government intends to carry out as of 2010. “Such plans will envisage a qualitative development to reconstruction plans that currently rely on one-year span and being renewed every year,” Baban told IraqiNews.com news agency while visiting al-Muthanna province Thursday. He asked provincial authorities to “work on constructing industrial cities in each province relying on the provinces’ local revenues”. “Those industrial cities are a slogan the Planning Ministry is raising,” he said.
