PCNS tackles political developments

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Political Council on National Security held a meeting on Thursday night and tackled the latest political developments in the country, the official spokesman for the Iraqi government Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement on Friday. “The council held a meeting under President Jalal Talabani, with the participation of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, Speaker of the Iraqi parliament Iyad al-Samarraie, Vice President Adel Abdulmahdi and representatives of the political blocs to tackle the latest political developments in the country,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Al-Maliki reviewed the continued efforts for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from cities and districts by June 30 2009,” it added.
