Police detain 2 al-Naqshabandiya wanted men in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Two al-Naqshabandiya wanted men were arrested Tuesday by police forces in south of Kirkuk, the local police chief said. “A joint force of police and army personnel, backed by U.S. troops, waged on Tuesday morning (June 16) a security raid in four villages in Daqouq district in south of Kirkuk,” Brigadier Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The forces arrested two wanted men of al-Naqshabandiya group,” he added. Al-Naqshabandiya, self-proclaimed after the year 2003, is a group that introduces itself as an Islamic spiritual dogmatic organization, but its ideology changed into one of armed struggle against the occupation forces. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians and Arabs, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SH (P) 1
