Talabani asserts importance of broadening relations with EU

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Tuesday discussed with Turkish and EU ambassadors to Iraq the importance of boosting and broadening Iraq’s relations with the European countries, according to a presidential statement. “The president asserted the importance of broadening relations with Europe in various domains, stressing the necessity to increase the European countries’ participation in reconstruction operations,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Talabani underlined that there are investment opportunities for these companies after the recent security improvement in the country,” it added. “The meeting tackled the latest developments in Iraq and its relations with other countries,” the statement noted.
