IED wounds 8 in Diala

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: The director of al-Saadiya district and five of his bodyguards as well as two civilians were wounded by an improvised explosive device near his house in the district in Diala, a security source said Thursday. “An improvised explosive device went off on Thursday (June 18) near the house of Ahmad Zarkoushi, director of the al-Saadiya district, in al-Asri neighborhood at the center of the district, while his motorcade was passing, injuring him along with five of his bodyguards and two civilians,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Zarkoushi is in critical condition,” he noted. This is the fourth attempt on Zarkoushi’s life in two years. Baaquba, the capital of Diala, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (P) 1
