Indian firm to execute 3 projects in Muthanna

MUTHANNA / IraqiNews.com: Muthanna’s investment commission has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an Indian firm to execute three giant investment projects in the province, the commission’s director general said on Thursday. “The MoU was signed this week during our visit to Syria,” Adil Dakhil al-Yasseri told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The first project is a power generation plant with a total capacity of 500 megawatt,” he said. “The second project is a concrete plant with a production capacity of two million tons per year,” he added. “The third project is a housing compound that embraces 5,000 housing units,” he noted. Al-Yasseri pointed out that the estimated cost of the projects has not been determined yet, noting that the commission is still waiting for further details from the Indian firm. He explained that a delegation from the commission will travel to India in early July to get all necessary details from the company and to finalize the deal. Samawa, the capital city of al-Muthana province, lies 280 km south of Baghdad. MH (P) / SS 1
