IED targets U.S. personnel in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: An improvised explosive device (IED) on Thursday went off near a U.S. patrol vehicle in Thi-Qar province, but no casualties were reported, according to a local official. “The blast occurred in al-Mansouriya area while a U.S. patrol vehicle was entering the city in the company of Iraqi police patrol cars,” the chairman of the security committee in Thi-Qar’s provincial council, Sijad al-Assadi, told Iraqi News. The explosion did not cause any damage or casualties on the U.S. side, a media spokesperson for the Multi-National Force (MNF) said.
