Kuwaiti firm to build hotel in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The investment commission in Basra has approved a project by a Kuwaiti company to build a hotel at Basra International Airport at a cost of $35 million U.S. dollars, according to the commission’s head. “A request submitted by the Kuwaiti al-Nukhba Company is currently under consideration,” Haydar Ali told Iraqi News. “The hotel will be established according to the international Holiday Inn standards. It will include four restaurants, swimming pools, meeting halls, a movie theater and a business center,” Ali noted. The estimated time of the project, the first of its kind in the country, is eight months, the official explained. “The project will provide 300 job opportunities for Basra residents,” he added.
