High-level police officer survives assassination attempt in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A high-level officer in the Iraqi police escaped an attempt on his life in southwestern Kirkuk on Saturday, a source from the Kirkuk Emergency Police Department said. “A blast targeted the vehicle of Major General Adnan, a high-ranking inspector in the Baghdad Police, in Huzayran 1 neighborhood, southwestern Kirkuk , but no casualties were reported,” the source told Iraqi News. “Some unidentified persons attached a sticky improvised explosive device to Maj. General Adnan’s vehicle,” he said. The source did not give further details.
