New UN representative for Iraq arrives in Kurdistan

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The new representative of the United Nations’ (UN) secretary general for Iraq, Ad Melkert, arrived in the Iraqi Kurdistan region on Tuesday. “The UN representative will meet the region’s president and the speaker of the Kurdistan parliament,” Dr. Dindar Zebari, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Kurdistan RegionG) coordinator, said in a press conference attended by Iraqi News. “Issues related to political, economic and social support to the region, in addition to the reconstruction of Iraq and Kurdistan, will be discussed with the new UN representative,” he said.
