Demonstrators in Tikrit want governor out

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: Hundreds of Tikrit people demonstrated Saturday in front of the city’s local authority building chanting support for a decision by their council to dismiss the governor, according to a media source from the council. “The demonstration was peaceful,” the source told Iraqi News. Earlier, Salah al-Din Governor Mtashar Hussein Ilaywi rejected the decision and said that he would appeal it before the federal court. MH (P)/AmR 3
