3 gunmen nabbed near Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Special forces on Tuesday arrested three gunmen believed to be involved in acts of violence near Ninewa’s Mosul city, according to an official source. “Today, SWAT personnel detained three gunmen who are wanted by the security authorities for planting explosive devices in al-Ayadiya district (13 km north of Talafar),” the source told Iraqi News. “One of those arrested has confessed to manufacturing explosive charges, while the other admitted his role in planting and detonating the devices by means of remote control…,” the source explained. The third gunman, however, said he financed the operations, the source added. Talafar district lies 60 northwest of Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, which lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
