Officer, guard wounded in IED blast

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: A police officer, along with one of his security guards, was wounded when an explosive charge targeted their vehicle in Tikrit, according to a local security source. “This afternoon, an improvised explosive device (IED) hit the vehicle of Lt. Col. Saad al-Khattab, near Makhool village, northern Tikrit,” the source told Iraqi News. “The blast wounded the officer, along with one of his security personnel,” the source added.
