New British ambassador in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The British Foreign Office announced on Monday appointing John Jenkins as the new British ambassador to Iraq , succeeding Ambassador Christopher Prentice. “ Dr John Jenkins CMG LVO has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq in succession to Mr Christopher Prentice CMG who will be transferring to another Diplomatic service appointment. Dr Jenkins will take up his appointment during December 2009,” the foreign office said in a statement received by Iraqi News. The new ambassador assumed posts in several countries around the world; Syria , Jerusalem , Burma , Kuwait , United Arab Emirates and Malaysia . Deputy Prime Minister Rafeaa al-Eissawi received today (Sept. 14) at his office in Baghdad Ambassador Prentice and discussed with him ways of activating military agreement between Baghdad and London .
