Electricity generator rehabilitated after 5 year hiatus

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The South Gas Company has rehabilitated a power generator with a capacity of 18 megawatts at the northern Rumaila oilfield in cooperation with Shell International after it has been obsolete for five years. “In cooperation with Shell experts and local contractors, maintenance experts from the South Gas Company have diagnosed the fault and provided the necessary spare parts…,” a source from the company told Iraqi News. The rehabilitation aimed to achieve self-sufficiency in electricity production, the source noted, explaining that the generator, after being put back into operation, will supply the gas factory at the northern al-Rumaila field with 18 megawatts of electricity.
