Finance minister, Italian ambassador discuss UNIDO plans

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi minister of finance on Tuesday discussed with the Italian envoy to Iraq plans by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to attract foreign investments to Iraq’s industrial zones. “During his meeting with Ambassador Maurizio Milani, Minister Baqir Jabr al-Zubeidi outlined plans by UNIDO to locate Iraq’s industrial zones in order to attract foreign investors,” according to an official statement received by Iraqi News. The minister stressed the possibility of developing the existing free industrial zones. Highlighting cooperation between the two countries, the ambassador said that Italian firms have sent a delegation to Iraq to discuss a joint project with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to build small boats.
