Iraqi government agrees to open Bahraini consulate in Najaf

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ‘s Council of Ministers agreed on Wednesday to open Bahraini consulate in Najaf, a spokesman for the Iraqi government said. “The council during its session on Wednesday (Sept. 16) agreed on the recommendation of the foreign ministry to open a Bahraini general consulate in Najaf in return for Iraq’s right to open a general consulate in Bahrain in the future, according to the Vienna agreement for consulate relations of 1963,” Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement received by Iraqi News. “The council asserted also on its decision to open an investigation into the crimes against the Iraqi people through an international court,” the spokesman said.
