CBI dollar sales up to$732m this week

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) dollar sales went up during this week’s auctions to reach $732 million compared to last week’s $662.505 million. “The demand hit $26.500 million in cash versus $17.500 million last week, covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars, and $706.262 million in foreign transfers outside the country versus last week’s $645.005 million, covered at an exchange rate of 1,173 Iraqi dinars per dollar,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by Iraqi News. No banks that participated in this week’s sessions offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. SH (P) 1
