Projects to build gas power stations referred to specialized firms

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi cabinet has decided to assign specialized companies to build gas power stations in an attempt to develop the country’s electricity sector, a government spokesperson said on Saturday. “The Taji electricity station project has been referred to a United Arab Emirates (UAE) company,” Ali al-Dabbagh told Iraqi News. According to Dabbagh, the project will be carried out at a cost of $84.579 million U.S. dollars within 15 months. Another project to establish al-Hilla gas station at a cost of $85.613 million has been referred to a Canadian company to be carried out within 18 months, he added. SS (P) 1
