MP: Parl. Speaker discusses security, defense, energy with French officials

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Parliament Speaker Iyad al-Samarraie, who is currently in Paris, has discussed several issues with French officials, including security, defense, energy and parliamentary cooperation. “The delegation has not signed any agreement with the French side,” MP Soad Hamid told Iraqi News by phone from Paris. The delegation included lawmakers from the committees on foreign relations, human rights, security and defense, labor and services, and civil society, according to the parliamentarian. On Monday (Sept. 21), Samarraie arrived at Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris, for a visit upon an invitation from the French National Assembly. SS (P) 1
