Official says army personnel violated the rules

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A local official in Ninewa has accused Iraqi army forces of violating the rules set out by the provincial government by confiscating personal weapons from local residents. “On Wednesday, a force from the 26 Brigade raided houses in western Mosul and confiscated a number of personal weapons,” the director of Tal Abita district, Abdulrahman Hassan Khaled, told Iraqi News. The confiscation of personal weapons violates the instructions of Ninewa’s Governor Athil al-Nujaifi and the provincial council, which allow local residents to have a single piece at home, the official noted.
