IHEC ready to hold referendum on Kurdistan’s constitution along with elections

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Independent High Electoral Election (IHEC) is ready to hold a referendum on the Kurdistan’s constitution along with the coming parliamentary elections, a media official of the IHEC said on Friday. “The IHEC is ready to hold the referendum along with the January elections on the condition that the referendum law is approved, in addition to allocating a special budget for it,” Abdulrahman Khaliefa said. The Kurdistan’s parliament had approved the constitution bill last June and demanded the IHEC to hold a referendum on it along with the Kurdish parliamentary elections, held on July 25, however the IHEC postponed the referendum, asserting that it needs more time.
