Committee to study draft agreements on taxes

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has ordered the formation of a committee to study draft agreements on double taxation avoidance, income tax and tax evasion, according to an official statement. “The committee will be headed by the director general of the General Tax Department and will include experts from the ministries of planning and industry and minerals as members,” a statement released by the National Media Center and received by Iraqi News quoted an authorized source in the Iraqi cabinet as saying. “The committee will be given a one-month deadline to submit its recommendations to the secretariat general of the cabinet,” the statement noted.
