Female physician released for $40,000

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A female Christian physician, who was kidnapped last night from her house in Mosul city, has been released for a ransom of $40,000, according to a security source. “The unknown gunmen who kidnapped Mahasin Bashir, a Christian physician, released her today for a ransom of $40,000 U.S. dollars,” the source told Iraqi News. The hostage was freed at Doberdan Bridge near Bashiqa district, eastern Mosul, the source noted, providing no further details. Earlier today, a police source said the hunt for Bashir is underway in the province. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
