British employment program in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Basra Investment Commission had a meeting on Wednesday with a British delegation to discuss a program to employ 500 young people for one year. “The program provides opportunities to work in the private sector in Basra,” Dr. Hayder Ali Fadhil, the Commission’s head, told Iraqi News. He said that the program would be expanded to other provinces by the Iraqi labor ministry, in case it succeeded in Basra. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad. MH (P)/SH 1
