Hydrocarbon committee head rules out oil legislation passage soon

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The chairman of the parliamentary hydrocarbon committee has ruled out the possibility of passing oil laws by the current parliament. “Several laws crucial to the oil sector, including the oil and gas law and the National Oil Company Law, were supposed to be enacted, but were delayed due to differences over the interpretation of the Iraqi constitution,” Ali Hussein Blo said during a press conference held today at the Baghdad-based Palace of Conferences, which was attended by Iraqi News. Blo said that he expects the laws to be passed by the next parliament. SS (P) 1
