National Assembly of Iraqis sees light of day

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi parliamentarian on Saturday announced the formation of the National Assembly of Iraqis List, which he said would participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections in six provinces. “The National Assembly of Iraqis will participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections as a separate list in six provinces: Ninewa, Anbar, Diala, Kirkuk, Salah al-Din and Baghdad,” MP Osama al-Nujaifi, the head of the list, said today during a press conference at the Baghdad-based al-Seid (Hunting) Club, which was attended by Iraqi News. Nujaifi, who represents the Iraqi National List (INL) in the Parliament, said that the the newly-formed assembly aims to boost Iraq’s commitment to its Arab identity and to improve its relations with neighboring countries.
