The Sadr movement to start 7 party polling centers in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: The Sadr movement in Thi-Qar will start seven polling centers in Thi-Qar to select the party’s nominees to join the upcoming parliamentary election. Sadeq al-Khazaali, executive director of the Sadr office in Thi-Qar, said that the polling centers will be opened on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2009. “The step comes after Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr’s orders to employ preliminary election to select the movement’s nominees to join the upcoming parliamentary election,” al-Khazaali told Iraqi News. He said that the final electoral list of the Sadr movement will be arranged relying on the number of votes each candidate receives. “According to Sayyid Sadr’s orders, any Iraqi can participate in the preliminary election, as voters or candidates, regardless of his political affiliation,” al-Khazaali said. Nassiriya, the capital city of Thi-Qar province, lies 380 km south of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR  2
