Int’l workshop in Basra about salt contamination

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Preparations have begun to hold an international workshop in Basra as early as Nov. 2009, to examine the subsequent effects caused by the increase in salt contamination in the Shatt al-Arab waterway. “The workshop comes as a result of the interest attributed to this issue,” Dr. Mohsen Abdilhay, the Basra governor’s agricultural advisor, told Iraqi News. He said that foreign and Arab experts and college professors will be invited to attend the workshop that aims at proposing solutions for this problem.
