NOC: Fresh security operations in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The Ninewa Operations Command revealed that new security operations codenamed Ninewa Wall were launched in the city of Mosul and its environs for two days now, resulting so far in the capture of a military commander of an armed group and dozens others. “The NOC had embarked on Operation Ninewa Wall on Thursday (Oct. 1) as part of the third Umm al-Rabiain security plan that targets all remnants of terrorist groups in and outside Mosul,” NOC Commander Maj. General Hassan Kareem Khudeir said in a press conference attended by all commanders of Iraqi forces in Ninewa. “The plan was carried out in a highly-secret manner away from the media and in light of the issues discussed during the Crisis Cell meeting held in Ninewa Plain last August after Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s visit,” said Khudeir. Mosul, the capital city of the volatile province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
